Comedian to Judge Miss South Texas American Coed Pageant

"Prince of Pageantry" Jade Esteban Estrada to take part in statewide competition

    /Fashion PR News/ - SAN ANTONIO, TX, August 11, 2008 - Comedian and singer Jade Esteban Estrada, who Genre Magazine has called the "Prince of Pageantry," will judge the 2008 Miss South Texas American Coed Pageant at noon on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at La Quinta Inn Suites and Convention Center located at 303 Blum in San Antonio, Texas. Age divisions for the pageant include Princess (ages 3-6), Sweetheart (7-9), Pre-teen (10-12), Jr. Teen (ages 13-15), Teen (ages 16-18) and adult (ages 19-21). Contestants will be judged in poise and appearance, formal wear, personality and personal introduction. Categories include talent, fashion model, photogenic, acting, miss victory, academic achievement, volunteer service, miss hostess, miss personality and people's choice.

Over the past decade Estrada has hosted, judged and choreographed for many notable beauty pageants including the Miss Universe Organization, the Miss America Scholarship Program, Miss Latina USA, the Miss Black World Pageant, Miss Cities of America Pageants, Miss Chinatown USA, Miss Globe Pageants among others.

In 2000, he was awarded the coveted Spirit Award from Pageantry Magazine for his outstanding dedication to the modeling and pageant industry. The Miss Black World Organization awarded him the 2001 Man of Distinction Award and the 2004 Presidential Award for his promotion of the beauty pageant circuit worldwide.

In 2006, Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher commissioned him the title of Kentucky Colonel for his work promoting goodwill and fellowship around the world.

The music, television and film star appears in the upcoming independent film "The Innocent Killers" directed by Brett Mauser. His current music video "Bella Morena" can be seen on YouTube.com. He has appeared on the award-winning television show "30 Rock" (NBC) and "The Graham Norton Effect" (Comedy Central).

Estrada was recently the host of the 19th Annual South Florida GLAAD Media Awards (Bravo) and the documentary film "Chasing Down an Idol" directed by Stephen Martin.
