Private Jeweler, which will donate a portion of its sales during the month of May to benefit the programs of A Silver Lining Foundation (ASLF). To kick off this month long partnership, Gregg Helfer, Ltd. (5 S. Wabash, Suite 1817, Chicago; 312-920-0970) will open their showroom to view their Spring 2009 Collection of fine jewelry from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., Saturday, May 2. There is no charge to attend this event, and Champagne and hors d'oeuvres will be served.
During this unique viewing celebration, meet NBC 5 television personality and ASLF founder Dr. Sandy Goldberg, who started ASLF after surviving her own bout with breast cancer and realizing the severe disadvantages uninsured and underinsured patients face while battling breast cancer.

Mother's Day with Buy A Mom A Mammogram
Don't forget to celebrate Mother's Day with ASLF. Each $150 donation funds a screening mammogram for a woman through ASLF's Buy A Mom A Mammogram program. Buy A Mom A Mammogram funds no cost screening mammograms and follow up diagnostic testing when indicated to uninsured and underinsured individuals in a timely, dignified and respectful fashion. Since its launch in 2002, ASLF has provided more than 450,000 people with information about cancer resources, treatment options and support services. Through the organization's programs, services and personal support, the foundation strives to provide opportunities for medically underserved people affected by cancer. The philosophy of the foundation is based on two phrases Dr. Goldberg's mother used to live by: "No matter what your situation, you have to see the silver lining," and "We are all family, and we have to help each other through the tough times." With 47 million Americans currently living without health insurance, the Buy A Mom A Mammogram provides a silver lining to those in need.
