Six Companies and Graphic Designers from Around the World Team Up to Provide Earthquake Relief through the 'Wear Good for Haiti' T-Shirt Contest
Led by Giving Tee and hosted on 99designs.com, a contest to generate funds for Haiti enables graphic designers to create t-shirt designs that the public can vote on and purchase with proceeds going to Artists for Peace and Justice, Rebuild Haiti
SALT LAKE CITY, UT, March 19, 2010 /Fashion PR News/ -- Giving Tee, an enterprise that empowers designers and consumers to do social good by generating designer t-shirts and donating between 25-50 percent of each t-shirt purchased to a cause of the consumer's choice, is organizing 'Wear Good for Haiti,' a t-shirt design contest on 99designs.com to benefit Haitian earthquake relief efforts. $10 from each t-shirt sold will be donated to the "Artists for Peace and Justice", Rebuild Haiti initiatives.
Designers from around the world will be banding together to come up with unique t-shirt designs that creatively depict the hope that will arise from our dedicated relief efforts following the great tragedy of the Haiti earthquake. The 'Wear Good for Haiti' t-shirt design contest will run on 99designs.com from March 12th - 25th. Designs will be sold on the Giving Tee website from March 26th - April 26th. The companies hope to sell 2,000 t-shirts in order to donate $20,000 dollars to Artists for Peace and Justice.
"I am so thrilled to help organize such an incredible event where the objective is to bring companies, designers and consumers together to do good by wearing good," said Nathan Gardner, CEO of Giving Tee. "Haiti is still in a very bleak situation. Years of rebuilding are ahead for a population that has been decimated, is severely underfunded, drastically under-educated, and relatively unskilled. Together we believe we can make a difference."
Designers can participate and submit designs at http://givingtee.com/help-haiti or directly at www.bit.ly/weargoodhaiti. The four winning designers will be awarded $300 dollars and a Yudu screen-printing machine worth $300.
In addition to Giving Tee, the 'Wear Good for Haiti' T-shirt design contest is made possible by sponsors including Skullcandy, ZenPrint, Costa Vida, 99designs and Yudu.
"Yudu is proud to partner with Giving Tee to help sponsor the Wear Good for Haiti initiative," said Mike Wigton, General Brand Manager for Yudu "We are very excited to promote such a worthy cause. We love seeing people do good and powerful things with their creativity, and believe anytime you can do something good and have fun at the same time it makes for a worthwhile endeavor."
99designs Co-Founder Mark Harbottle added, "Wear Good for Haiti is a tremendous opportunity for our designers to use their talents to help make a difference in the lives of people who have suffered. 99designs is happy to support and promote such a worthwhile project."
